Dumpster Day Area Cleanups

single news

Spring 2025 Schedule now available!

In coordination with the magisterial district offices, the Prince William County Solid Waste Division will help residents, neighbors, and community groups safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted items. The Division will provide free dumpsters at various locations throughout the county.

Dumpster Days are open to all county residents. The Solid Waste Division encourages residents to organize or participate in a community cleanup in their neighborhoods. Neighbors are encouraged to work together and coordinate a community litter cleanup with Keep Prince William Beautiful and take advantage of the special onsite dumpster. Common areas, streams, and waterways all benefit from a litter-free environment.   Volunteers can join in area litter pickups or utilize the free county dumpsters to remove clutter and debris from their porches, patios, yards, or other areas around their homes.  A schedule of the spring events is available at www.pwcva.gov/dumpster-days.

Electronics, household hazardous waste, liquids of any kind, fuel tanks/drums, motor oil, antifreeze, paint, paint thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals, and commercial waste are not accepted at the dumpsters. However, all these items can be appropriately disposed of at Prince William County Landfill. Visit www.pwcva.gov/disposalguide for more information.

If discarding household appliances, please ensure refrigerators are empty, wiped clean, and the doors are secured with tape.  Also, remove glass trays from microwaves before dropping them off at the dumpster location.

To find event locations and dates, see the attached schedule for the spring Dumpster Days or visit www.pwcva.gov/dumpster-days.
