Prince William County Government is inviting job seekers to explore exciting career opportunities at its “Work Where You Live & Play” Spring Career Expo on Saturday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event will take place at the Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University’s Prince William Campus, located at 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, VA.

Hosted by the Prince William County Human Resources Office, the Career Expo will showcase the wide array of services the county provides and highlight current job openings, apprenticeships and volunteer opportunities. This event offers a unique opportunity to meet hiring managers, network with county employees and gain insight into careers in local government.

Representatives from more than 20 county departments will be on hand to discuss available positions, the skills needed for success and the benefits of working for Prince William County Government. Attendees will also have access to onsite laptops to apply for jobs during the event.

“This is not your typical job fair,” said Adreanne Simms, the county’s Human Resources Manager of Talent Management. “From our last two Career Expos, we extended more than 50 job offers to attendees. With valuable feedback from past participants and hiring managers, we’re making this event even bigger and aiming to double that number of hires this time around.”

Prince William County offers competitive salaries, career growth opportunities and excellent benefits, including:

  • Comprehensive medical plans
  • Life insurance
  • Virginia State Retirement, 401A and 457 retirement savings accounts
  • Paid holidays and personal leave
  • Professional development and training
  • Hiring incentives for select positions
  • Telework and remote work options where applicable
  • Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program eligibility

“We invest in our staff to ensure they have the skills and tools they need to succeed,” Simms said. “With locations across the county, there is a place for you here, likely close to where you live and play. So, we want you to choose local, choose public service.”

In addition to career opportunities, this year’s Expo will feature a Resource Fair for individuals impacted by recent federal workforce reductions. Attendees will have access to a variety of support services designed to help residents navigate financial hardships, connect with local assistance programs and explore new career opportunities.

Representatives from multiple agencies will be on hand to offer guidance, answer questions and provide referrals tailored to individual needs.

Prince William County Executive Chris Shorter emphasized the broader impact of the event.

“Prince William County is a dynamic, growing community, and our government is committed to attracting top talent who are passionate about public service. This Career Expo is more than just a hiring event, it’s an opportunity to showcase the meaningful careers available in local government and build a workforce that reflects the diversity and strength of our community.

This year, we’re also proud to host a Resource Fair to support individuals impacted by recent federal workforce reductions. In addition to exploring new career opportunities, attendees will have access to critical support services. If you’re looking for a career where you can make a difference, or need help navigating the next chapter, Prince William County is here for you.”
