Third Party Inspectors - Building ENROLLMENT
The Third party Building Inspection Certification Program is an optional program to allow the permit holder to retain a Virginia professional engineer or registered architect to perform certain building inspections. The Virginia professional engineer or architect performs inspections under the authority of the Building Official. The permit holder is responsible for the cost of retaining the Virginia professional engineer or architect. This program was originally implemented in July 1987.
To be enrolled in the program, you must attend a mandatory seminar. Please fill out the application form and email to [email protected] or fax to 703.792.7054. Please Note: The original application with all supporting documents must be submitted at the time of the seminar to be enrolled.
You will receive a confirmation email when your application is approved to attend the seminar. The confirmation email will indicate how to attend the seminar.

Take the Prince William County Parkway Exit #158B. Follow the Prince William Parkway approximately 4.4 miles to the Prince William Parkway/Old Bridge Road intersection. Take a left to remain on Prince William Parkway. Proceed one mile to the James J. McCoart Government Center entrance on the right. Bear right and the Development Services Building will be on your left. The parking lot is past the building on the left.
