Building Development Division

The Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code has given authority to the Prince William County Building Official to grant modifications to any provisions of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, provided the spirit and intent of the code are observed, and the public's health, welfare, and safety are assured.

A Code Modification Request must be submitted with adequate supporting technical data. Fees are charged according to the approved Building Development Fee Schedule.

All code modification requests are required to be submitted via Prince William County’s ePortal system.
