Prince William County’s Regional Parks and Community Centers are true hubs of community, offering diverse amenities like sports fields, trails, pavilions, pools, marinas, and many others along with recreation programming. A 4,400+ acre park system comprised of 81 properties and 60+ trail miles for your enjoyment.

Birchdale Community Center

14730 Birchdale Avenue, Dale City, VA (703) 792-7060 (TTY: 711) [email protected] Located at the entrance of the Birchdale Community in Dale City, the Birchdale Community Center is a 2,500 square foot community center with meeting and event space available to rent. Amenities include a 25-meter outdoor pool with wading area and bath house, a playground, pavilions, basketball courts and a skate park.

Pat White Center at Ben Lomond

10501 Copeland Drive, Manassas, VA (703) 792-8320 (TTY: 711) [email protected] Pat White Center at Ben Lomond (formally known as "The Barn" and "Ben Lomond Community Center") is built on land that was once a part of the Ben Lomond Historical Site. The building was designed to resemble the dairy barn that was an important part of the farming business of Ben Lomond and the surrounding community. The community center continues the tradition of community support by providing programming and specialty classes for all ages for the residents of Prince William County and surrounding counties.

Veterans Memorial Park

For nature lovers and trail enthusiasts, Veterans Memorial Park is a must-visit. The park is also home to several sports leagues including swimming, soccer, football, baseball, softball, Little League, basketball and volleyball. The community center hosts open gym days for basketball, sports classes, pickle ball, playschool, summer and mini-camps, and other activities.

Lake Ridge Park

This 74-acre park maintains an unencumbered public access to the Occoquan Water Trail with breath-taking views. The Lake Ridge Park marina offers three-season boat rentals, with a universal access boat launch and dock access. Amenities include a wide variety of boats to rent, fishing, hiking, picnic tables and grills, rental pavilions, concessions, summer camps and children’s programs, hiking and bicycling trails, playgrounds, a 9-hole par 3 golf course and a clubhouse with snack bar and golf equipment.

Locust Shade Park

4701 Locust Shade Drive, Triangle, VA (703) 792- 8780 (TTY: 711) [email protected] Located next to the Marine Corps Heritage Museum, and minutes from I-95, Locust Shade Park offers much more than scenic beauty, tranquil water, and picturesque trails. Amenities include seven pavilions (available to rent), playgrounds, tennis courts, volleyball courts, 3.2 miles of scenic nature trails, bike trails, a 15-station fitness trail, batting cages (currently closed due to construction), a driving range, an 18-hole miniature golf course, Warrior Challenge Course, fishing in an eight-acre pond. A special feature of this park is the Jean C Smith Amphitheater. The 500-seat outdoor performance area presents family entertainment during the summer season.

Silver Lake Regional Park

16198 Silver Lake Road, Haymarket, VA (703) 792-8320 (TTY: 711) [email protected] Silver Lake Regional Park is a designated passive recreation park with 230 acres of rolling meadows, pine forests and a 23-acre lake fed by Little Bull Run Stream. The park opens at 7am and closes at sunset. There are no trash cans at Silver Lake Park. Park visitors are responsible for removal of their own trash. What you bring into the park, you must take out of the park.

Whether you are planning a fun day with the kids meandering along in our paddleboats, plotting your strategy to land that elusive largemouth bass or enjoying the serenity of a quiet afternoon’s paddle where only a kayak can take you, we have just what you’re looking for.

    There are three locations within the parks system just right for a day of fishing with Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Crappie and Bluegill in abundance. Remember – the Commonwealth of Virginia requires you obtain a Sportsman’s License if you are 16 years and older. For more information, contact Virginia’s Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.
