Prince William County’s Regional Parks and Community Centers are true hubs of community, offering diverse amenities like sports fields, trails, pavilions, pools, marinas, and many others along with recreation programming. A 4,400+ acre park system comprised of 81 properties and 60+ trail miles for your enjoyment.

Whether you are planning a fun day with the kids meandering along in our paddleboats, plotting your strategy to land that elusive largemouth bass or enjoying the serenity of a quiet afternoon’s paddle where only a kayak can take you, we have just what you’re looking for.
There are three locations within the parks system just right for a day of fishing with Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Crappie and Bluegill in abundance. The Office of Historic Preservation serves as stewards of County-owned historic structures, cultural and natural resources, historic landscapes, and artifacts. Take a step back in time during one of our hikes, explore historic sites and learn about the rich history of Prince William County.

The Department of Parks & Recreation currently oversees 277 sports fields, 45 holes of golf, 27 outdoor basketball courts, 9 volleyball courts and 28 tennis & racquetball courts scattered throughout our 4,200-acre park system. Our recreation centers provide a variety of sports opportunities for all ages of Prince William County residents at a reduced cost.

Our state-licensed Preschool prides itself on providing a quality program that emphasizes learning through play, in a safe and nurturing environment. Our Preschool provides thoughtfully planned experiences and opportunities, which stimulate learning in all developmental areas: social, emotional, physical, and cognitive.
We offer an expansive Scouting Program that’s run year round. Our trained BSA certified counselors will provide Cub Scouts the opportunity to earn rank advancement and Scouts BSA the opportunity to earn merit badges.
This highly-rated program is based on the Virginia SOL Science curriculum. Our Science in the Park specialty instructors provide hands-on science lessons utilizing the resources of our beautiful parks as an outdoor classroom.
