The following list contains quick descriptions of the programs and services offered by the Prince William Area Agency on Aging as well as some useful resources for caregivers and those looking for assistance remaining independent in their homes. SERVICES ASSESSMENT Overwhelmed? Not sure what you qualify for? If so, begin with a services assessment by one of our skilled Supportive Services Staff. |
 Provides personal assistance for persons unable to perform activities of daily living.

MEALS ON WHEELS Nutritious meals are delivered to homebound adults by volunteers Monday through Friday .

TRANSPORTATION A list of transportation services available in our area, including directions on how to take advantage of senior discount opportunities.

CARE REGISTRY An ongoing list of self-employed individuals who offer in-home care to adults on an ongoing basis. All individuals have passed background checks. |
TELEPHONE REASSURANCE Trained volunteers provide regular contact, safety checks, and medication reminders, scheduled at the recipient’s convenience.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS
A list of support groups in our area, ranging from general caregiver support groups to those dealing with more specific circumstances. |
LEGAL ASSISTANCE Schedule an appointment with LSNV, a legal firm which visits each of our senior centers once a month.

MEDICARE RESOURCES Medicare is a federal health insurance program open to Americans aged 65 and older and disabled persons under 65.
|
MEDICAID RESOURCES Medicaid is a state-specific insurance program for low income individuals with limited financial assets regardless of their age.
|
ADULT DAY CARE Includes group-based activities, personal care, health monitoring, and social services for older adults who cannot remain at home alone during the day.

SENIOR CENTERS Senior centers located in Manassas and Woodbridge are open weekdays for a wide variety of classes, programs and activities.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Financial assistance services include health insurance counseling, tax relief, financial education, and Disability Determination Services

VETERANS ASSISTANCE Information about programs and services available to veterans of any age.

DISABILITY SERVICES BOARD The Commission for Persons with Disabilities is an advisory group which recommends ways the County can be more responsive to the needs of citizens with disabilities. |
CARE TRANSITIONS A program dedicated to reducing avoidable hospital readmissions by empowering individuals to manage their own healthcare.
