The first meeting of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors for calendar year 2025 was held on Tuesday, Jan. 14. During the organizational meeting, Chair At-Large Deshundra Jefferson delivered the annual State of the County remarks, reflecting on the county's progress and sharing her vision for a collaborative and inclusive future
Jefferson highlighted key achievements from the past year, including lowering the real estate tax rate, increasing investments in education, and enhancing public safety with additional funding for police officers and medics. She emphasized the importance of affordable housing, pointing to the creation of an Affordable Housing Office and the allocation of $5.5 million to an affordable housing trust. Jefferson also invited everyone to the first State of the County Community Forum on Monday, Jan. 27, at the Hylton Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m.

In other business, the Board chose Potomac District Supervisor Andrea Bailey to serve as the 2025 Vice Chair and Gainesville District Supervisor Bob Weir as the 2025 Chair Pro-Tem. The Board also adopted its 2025 meeting schedule.
