Effective March 14, 2025, the Prince William County Tax Administration Office will no longer issue Solid Waste Facility Decals. On March 31, 2025, all landfill and compost facility residential visitors will be required to scan their Virginia DMV-issued driver’s licenses at the scalehouse. FAQ's

The Prince William County Sanitary Landfill is located at 14811 Dumfries Road, Manassas, VA, phone 703-792-5750 (TTY:711). The Landfill Office is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Household Hazardous Waste and Electronics Recycling Collection is available to county residents only.
Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Electronics Recycling program are available during special hours at the County Landfill. Residents must get a ticket from the traffic control attendant before they will be allowed to use this program.

Landfill: Wednesday & Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
(Unless the facility is closed for a holiday.)

The Department of Public Works, Solid Waste Division creates, follows, reviews and updates a variety of guiding documents to ensure the safe, environmentally sound and efficient operation of our solid waste facilities.
Facilites' Safety Guidelines
Safety is everyone's responsibility. Facility customers should follow all safety guidelines as well as instructions given by the facility staff.
Large Vehicle Restriction Policy
For the safety of landfill customers and employees, a large vehicle restriction policy is now in effect at the Landfill Convenience Center. On weekends, customers with large vehicles will be directed to a designated area at the workface to unload.
