Anthony Cleveland is the Bureau Director, overseeing Prince William County's Animal Services Bureau which includes the Animal Control Unit and the Animal Services Center.
Mr. Cleveland has 25 years of experience in animal care, having worked for such renowned organizations as the Bronx Zoo and the Humane Society of New York, both in New York City; Columbia University, also in New York City; Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.; and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Mr. Cleveland spent nearly 10 years as a member of the management team for the Fairfax County, Va. Animal Shelter.
During his tenure at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Mr. Cleveland had an integral part in overseeing the construction of a new facility there, and he was instrumental in raising the standards of both animal and customer care. Mr. Cleveland's unique and widely varied experience has allowed him to function as an advisor for subjects involving both animal care and humane law enforcement.
Since relocating to Virginia, Mr. Cleveland and his family have lived in Prince William County.
