The Count Me in scholarship program is provided by the Prince William County Parks Foundation and the Department of Parks & Recreation. The scholarship was developed to support children's participation in life-enriching leisure opportunities. Prince William County residents who meet eligibility requirements are able to apply for financial support intended to reduce and/or remove financial barriers to program entry.
Eligibility
Scholarships are available to youth of eligible families who reside in Prince William County. Eligibility is dependent on the level of need determined by the Federal Poverty Guidelines (At or below 130% of poverty level).
If approved, a scholarship of $200 dollars will be allocated for each age-appropriate child in the household. Scholarships will be limited to one program per dependent in the household. A limited number of scholarships are available and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
Department of Parks & Recreation staff will contact the awarded guardian to process registration.
Application Period Open January 6 - February 7, 2025. The application period is currently closed. Awards will be announced and distributed no later than February 28, 2025.

Completion of the scholarship application with proof of income of PWCS free lunch voucher or SNAP approval is required by the application deadline (The application period is now closed).

The Count Me in fee scholarship program is funded by the Parks Foundation and generous private donations.
When can I apply for a scholarship?
You may apply for a Count Me In Scholarship during the application period: January 6 - February 7, 2025. The application period is now closed. Application period coming January 2025. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served, basis to qualifying families based on funds available.
What can I use my awarded scholarship on?
Awarded scholarships may be used towards 2024 Summer Camps and programs in Leisure. (*Preschool, Before & After Care, Year-Round Intermediate Dance and Dance Academy are excluded from scholarship use*).
How will I know if I have been awarded a scholarship?

How many scholarships can I receive?
