Dumpster Days Offer Residents Convenient Disposal Options

single news

Prince William County Neighborhood Services and Solid Waste Divisions of the Department of Public Works are helping residents, neighborhoods and community groups safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted items by providing free dumpsters at various locations throughout the county. Residents are encouraged to work together to clean up common areas, organize litter pickups and clean up streams, lakes and waterways in their neighborhoods.

Dumpster Days are open for use by all county residents. The Department of Public Works encourages residents to take part in organizing or participating in a community cleanup in their neighborhoods. Volunteers can participate in area litter pickups or simply utilize the free county dumpsters to remove clutter and debris from their yards or other areas around their homes.

Items not accepted at the dumpsters include liquids of any kind, fuel tanks/drums, motor oil, household hazardous waste, antifreeze, paint, paint thinners, pesticides, pool chemicals or commercial waste; however, these items can be properly disposed of at the Prince William County Landfill. Call 703-792-5750 for more information. If disposing household appliances, please ensure refrigerators are empty of their contents and wiped clean, remove glass trays from microwaves and secure the doors with tape before dropping them off at the dumpster location.
