Prince William County Neighborhood Services and Solid Waste Divisions worked with Prince William Board of County Supervisors staff to plan and host 10 Dumpster Day events in 2022.
These events allow county residents, neighborhoods and community groups to safely and conveniently dispose of unwanted household items at various locations throughout the county. Residents are encouraged to work together to clean up common areas, organize litter pickups clean up streams, lakes and waterways in their neighborhoods.
The 10 Dumpster Day events produced the following results:
Combined Total = 48.06 Tons of Unwanted Household Items, Trash and Debris Removed from the Community.
April 9: Occoquan District Cleanup (Bethel United Methodist Church) ~ 2.16 Tons
April 23: Potomac District Cleanup (Town of Quantico) ~ 10.64 Tons
April 30: Gainesville District Cleanup (Sudley Elementary School) ~ 8.91 Tons
May 14: Brentsville District Cleanup (Irongate Community) ~ 6.03 Tons
May 21: Potomac District Cleanup (Forest Park High School) ~ 0.58 Tons
June 4: Neabsco District Cleanup (Gemini Way Commuter Lot) ~ 3.37 Tons
June 11: Woodbridge District Cleanup (Fred Lynn Middle School) ~ 0.99 Tons
September 17: Coles District Cleanup (Emmanuel Baptist Church) ~ 2.31 Tons
September 24: Potomac District Cleanup (Town of Quantico) ~ 11.28 Tons
October 22: Woodbridge District Cleanup (Rippon Middle School) ~ 1.79 Tons
The Department of Public Works would like to thank all the volunteers, Civic Associations and Neighborhood Leaders who spent time rallying their neighbors to come out to take advantage of the Dumpster Day events. With their support, this program continues to promote the health and welfare of communities throughout Prince William.
