This summer, the Prince William County Fire & Rescue System is teaming up with the county Building Code Enforcement, Emergency Management and other county agencies and community-based organizations to bring Fire and Life Safety Pop-Up events to residents. Safeguarding our communities, residents, business and visitors is our top priority and these events play an integral role in providing community safety education and resources, which helps attain the highest level of life safety and quality of life standards in our neighborhoods.
Attendees of these family-friendly, outdoor pop-up events will gain valuable life-saving tips and learn necessary safety precautions on how to reduce fires, deaths, injuries and avoid property damage and loss. Residents can learn how to assess and self-assist during a medical emergency and know “When to Call 911.” Knowing when to call 911 can save countless lives. Understanding what is a minor versus a severe health risk can be critical for 911 emergency responders when time is crucial in providing urgent responses in the event of actual emergencies.
Building Code Enforcement officers, who work closely with Fire and Rescue, will be available to address concerns about home, building and property conditions in the neighborhood that may be hazardous and jeopardize the health, safety and well-being of residents. Emergency Management personnel will be on site to share emergency preparedness tips for hazards and disasters. And there is so much more!
In addition, there will be fire and rescue apparatus on site, fire and rescue personnel to talk with, and a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog!
The outdoor pop-ups are held throughout the county on Saturdays. Remaining events are as follows:
