Please continue to practice proper social distancing when visiting parks. Park visitors should adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Effective Monday, August 9, 2021 all county employees are required to wear a face-covering in all indoor public settings while on duty, regardless of vaccination status. This is an update to the county’s current Face Covering Directive, which requires all unvaccinated employees to wear a face-covering in all settings while on duty. Members of the public are also required to wear face coverings inside county facilities.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Maintain a minimum distance of 6-feet from others.
  • Avoid touching shared surfaces.
  • Wash and/or sanitize hands frequently.
  • Do not park illegally.

The Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism continues adapted operations as we move through the Commonwealth's phased approach to reopening.

Trails, walking paths, open spaces, picnic shelters, playgrounds, and parking lots are currently open at all outdoor parks. Tennis, basketball, volleyball, and pickleball courts are open for play.

Lake Ridge Marina and Locust Shade Park are open for the 2021 season. Private watercraft  may be launched from Lake Ridge Marina boat ramp paying the daily fee, weather permitting. Bank fishing is permitted at Silver Lake Park, Locust Shade Park, and Lake Ridge Park.

Prince William Golf Course, Forest Greens Golf Course, and Lake Ridge Golf Course are open, as are the skate parks and dog park. The Locust Shade Park driving range, mini-golf are open. Batting cages at Locust Shade are currently closed.

The Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center and the Chinn Aquatic and Fitness Center are open. Check their webpages for all updated operations.

Historic sites are open for tours, 11am, 1pm and 3pm; Friday-Monday.

Recreation and fitness programming is being offered, according to COVID-19 guidelines, at various Prince William County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism facilities.  Please refer to our Leisure magazine for locations and program information.
