Lisa Climer has been a Manassas resident since 2018. She is employed by George Mason University's College of Public Health, where she serves as the Assistant Director of Practicum Education in

the Department of Social Work. In her role, she advises graduate and undergraduate social work students entering practicum, teaches practicum seminar courses, and collaborates with community agencies to develop and support partnerships nationwide.

Before joining George Mason University, Lisa worked at Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville, where she designed, coordinated, and provided instruction in college and career readiness as well as adult secondary education programs.

Lisa began her social work career in child welfare with the Charlottesville Department of Social Services in 1994 and later worked for Region Ten Community Services Board. She holds a Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.

Since 2019, Lisa has represented Manassas on the Prince William-Manassas Regional Jail Board. She and her spouse have two young adult daughters.
