Thirty-eight businesses received a ‘Certificate of Occupancy’ or official letter to ‘Open for Business’ from the Department of Development Services’ Small Business Project Management Program in July 2021.

Thirty-seven businesses were new to their location, while New You Med Spa, an existing business in Prince William County, expanded at its current location.

"While the number of small businesses that opened in July were a new record high for the month, it's important to continue to support all local businesses, as they continue to operate under the COVID-19 Pandemic and necessary health regulations," shared Wade A. Hugh, Director, Department of Development Services.

Most of the small businesses that opened their doors in July were health services, spas and beauty salons, such as Beauty Unlimited by Kye, A+K Salon, Permaskin, Michel's African Braiding & Styling, Glamher Beauty Bar, Astro Locs, Upscale Braids, Sifted Beauty, Lavanda Hair & Lashes, Elegant Cuts by Ceci, and Lotus Skin Care & Beauty Lounge.

One new restaurant opened in Gainesville, suitably named Rice All, a new sushi restaurant, which is presently offering a 20% off coupon to celebrate its Grand Opening!
