Looking for camps and activities to keep your kids busy over spring break? We’ve got you covered!

Spring break is right around the corner so check out our spring break camps below running during the week of April 3-7.

Archery Camp (April 3-6, 9:00 – 11:00 am)

Kids ages 8-15 interested in archery can attend this camp. Students will learn the safe and effective way to handle and shoot recurve and compound bows, while understanding the differences between them. Training provided by National Archery Association certified instructors. (Friday will be used as a weather make up day if needed.) Archery Camp will take place at Locust Shade Park.

Chinn Spring Break Camp (April 3-7, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)

Join us for Chinn Spring Break Camp at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center! Your child will have a blast participating in supervised camp games, activities and crafts. Camp also includes swimming and a field trip. This camp is for kids ages 5-14.

First Tee Golf Club – Spring Break (April 3-6, 9:30 – 12 noon)

Kids ages 7-17 are welcome to join us for this golf camp, regardless of previous experience. Based on your skill level the camp will cover: the basics of golf; rules and etiquette; solid impact and distance control; course management; and more advanced golf skills. First Tee also places a premium on core values such as honesty, respect, confidence and judgment. These values help build social skills, deal with peer pressure and how to self-manage through most situations. Sign up today.

Gro-ing In the Garden – Spring Break Camp (April 3-6)

If you’re looking for something for your younger children to do during spring break, this camp is designed for ages 4-8, with separate class sessions for ages 4-5 (9:00 am – noon) and then ages 6-8 (1:00 – 4:00 pm). At the Gro-ing in the Garden camp, kids will search for signs of spring, learn about plants and seeds, and learn how to attract birds and pollinators.  

Little Acorns (April 3-7, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm)

Another camp for the little ones is our Little Acorns camp. During this camp children ages 3-5 will enjoy learning about animals of all shapes and sizes. They will also get a chance to explore to see what animals live in our park!

Minecraft Camps (April 3-7)

Do your kids have Minecraft on the brain? Then we’ve got three camps just for them. These camps are for children ages 6-14.

In our Minecraft Modding camp, students will learn how to create their own custom gameplay items and elements using MCreator and Minecraft. Students will learn how to create artwork for various items and implement them into the game with custom behaviors. They will learn how to design their own custom blocks, food, biomes and more! There are two separate sessions for ages 6-9 and then ages 10-14. Both sessions will run from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

In Our Coding for Minecraft with Lua camp, students will learn how to program robots called “Turtles” inside the world of Minecraft, using a custom mod called “Computercraft.” Kids will utilize problem-solving skills by learning how to program their robots to complete various tasks and objectives such as programming their turtles to automatically build, mine, and craft items and structures. They will be introduced to programming if-then-else statements, for-while loops, and implement their own functions using Lua, a simple scripting language. Looking for a fun way to introduce your child to programming? Why not do it using a game they love! This camp also has two separate sessions for ages 6-9, and ages 10-14, both from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day.

In our Cyberteck Academy Animations Using Minecraft camp, students will learn how characters move and look alive in movies and video games! They will be introduced to basic 2D and 3D animation techniques using Minecraft characters and stages. Kids will expand their perception, observation, and timing skills, as well as exercise their imagination and storytelling by studying motion in reality; then applying it to animation. Students will learn how animators work by completing a variety of short animation exercises and projects. They will apply acting theories and animation principles to scenes they create. Does your child aspire to become an animator for games and movies? The session for ages 6-9 will run from 9:00 am to 12 noon, and for ages 10-14 camp will be from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. 

Camp in a Box

Want to give your kids the camp experience from home? We’re pleased to offer Camp in a Box! Give your child a fun and exciting camp experience from the comfort and convenience of your own home. This Camp in a Box comes packed with fun activities, supplies, and instructions to keep your child entertained a few hours each day. Boxes come with enough materials for two children ($25), or four children ($40) and instructions will have physical and cognitive modifications for each activity.  Boxes must be purchased online and can be picked up on Monday between 10 am and 4 pm from Birchdale Community Center or Pat White Center. This box will have enough supplies for two children.
