The Prince William County Department of Public Safety Communications (DPSC) is proud to be a nationally accredited public safety communications agency through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA), the primary accrediting authority in the United States.

The DPSC has been accredited since 2003; and as part of its ongoing commitment to service, community partnership, and continuous improvement, the DPSC is pleased to announce the availability of a comment portal which county residents and business owners may use to share feedback related to the agency’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.

Community members may submit comments, which can be in the form of commendations or concerns, through the comment portal. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the participating agency with information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence. The comment portal (https://cimrs2.calea.org/723) will remain open year-round.

It is important to note that CALEA is not an investigatory body, and subsequently, the comment portal should not be used to submit information for such purposes. There will be no response other than acknowledgement of submissions; however, the information will be considered in context to its relevancy to compliance with standards and the tenets of CALEA® Accreditation.

More information about the Department of Public Safety Communications is available on the county’s website.
