Many in Northern Virginia and the National Capital Region are being called back to the office while teens are out of the school for the summer. In addition, high gas prices and road congestion are putting strains on commuters. OmniRide’s family of mobility services could be the solution.
OmniRide has provided mobility services for Northern Virginia for more than three decades. This includes local bus service in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park, and Metro Express which connects riders with metro stations. Express service for commuters between Prince William County and employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. currently costs between $9.20 one-way for regular cash fare, $6.90 with a SmarTrip card and $4.60 one-way for those eligible for reduced fares. For more information visit omniride.com/service/fares/. OmniRide also offers assistance to carpoolers and vanpoolers and coordinates a variety of employer services.
Teens can use OmniRide buses to get to summer jobs or to combat boredom by riding our local buses for destinations in Dale City, Dumfries, Woodbridge/Lake Ridge, Manassas, and Manassas Park. They can also take advantage of our proximity to Washington, D.C. by boarding the OmniRide Metro Express to nearby metro stations or paying the commuter fare for the OmniRide Express buses into the city.
OmniRide is adding Sunday service in eastern Prince William County beginning Aug. 28 to include Dale City, Dumfries, Route 1 and Woodbridge/Lake Ridge local routes and the Prince William Metro Express route. Sunday service will mimic the Saturday service schedule already in place.
Starting Dec. 12, OmniRide is adding a new local microtransit service in Manassas Park. Like Lyft or Uber, microtransit allows riders to book a ride through their phone or by calling OmniRide’s Customer Service office. Instead of a bus, riders would be transported in vans.
