Prince William County Parks, Recreation & Tourism, in coordination with the National Recreation and Parks Association, will be celebrating “Park and Recreation Month 2021: Our Park and Recreation Story.”
Every person has a park story. Parks are places to gather with friends and family, spaces to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing. Local parks have been essential throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Every park has a history made up of thousands of stories that help to define it. Parks are at the center of so many experiences and memories — moments that park and recreation professionals help make happen. Our local parks are often our first experiences in nature, our introduction to a favorite hobby or physical activity; a place to learn our local history, our culture and our favorite place to learn about science.
Throughout the month of July, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will showcase “Our Park and Recreation Story” on our social media platforms. Share your Park and Recreation story with us by using #OurParkAndRecStory and #pwcparks
