Is one of your new year’s resolutions to focus on your health and fitness? Want to start your new year off building healthy habits? If so, check out some of the programs happening in January to help you kickstart those goals. 

Metabolic Makeover Through Nutrition 

Join us on Saturday, January 18 (1-2:30 pm) and learn how to reset your metabolism. By modifying your diet, you can increase both lean body mass and your metabolic rate. Join our Nutrition Expert and Certified Personal Trainer to learn the interactions between nutrition, body composition, and metabolism. Register today. Program takes place at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center.

Intro to Myofascial Release

Join us on Friday, January 24 (10:30 am - 11:45 am) at Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center for this educational workshop where you will learn about myofascial release. We will perform massage rounds using props such as foam rollers, yoga blocks, and balls to stretch and loosen the fascia buildup so that it and your muscles and joints can move more freely, and restore and improve motion. Myofascial release is helpful in assisting muscle and skeletal mobility and lessening pain by relaxing contracted muscles while improving blood and lymphatic circulation and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles. Sports Clinics 

Get the kids involved too! Sports are a great way to keep kids active and introduce them to fitness. There are a few spots left in our youth basketball and advanced volleyball skills clinics. Check out all of the options here.

Group Fitness Classes

Our group fitness classes offered at both Dale City and Chinn are a great way to try out different classes to figure out what you like and what works for you. We offer a variety of classes focusing on both strength and cardiovascular fitness such as spinning, Zumba, Pilates mat, aqua fit, Barre classes and more. Check out our group fitness schedule here. Please note for classes at Chinn, class reservations are required and open up 48 hours in advance of the class.

Swimming

Swimming is a great low-impact, whole body exercise with so many benefits. Prince William County Parks offers two indoor pools that are available for lap swimming year-round.
