PWC Parks, Recreation & Tourism Partners with Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics

single news

With the availability of COVID-19 vaccines and the arrival of beautiful spring weather, residents and visitors are flocking to our county parks and trails to enjoy the fresh air, sunshine and their favorite outdoor activities.

The Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism has joined the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics as a registered community partner.

The mission of the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics organization is to provide innovative education, skills and research to help people care for the outdoors. By working with the public and those managing public lands, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics focuses on educating people—instead of costly restoration programs or access restrictions—as the most effective and least resource-intensive solution to land protection.

Through the Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism’s Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Trail programs, along with the Science in the Parks and Scouting programs, it is the department’s mission to promote public awareness of the need to “Keep it Litter Free in PWC!”
