Prince William County has a new online platform people can use to learn more about county projects and initiatives that impact the community and reflect the county’s commitment to exceptional customer service.
The platform, PWC Works, aims to keep residents, visitors and those doing business in the County informed about major projects the county government is working on.
“We are really excited to offer the opportunity to inform and engage with our residents about the work we are doing in the county,” said Nikki Brown, the county’s director of Communications and Engagement. “We are focused on providing excellent customer experiences for those who interact with the county. Keeping people updated on major projects, initiative and milestones, will be a way that we can improve on those experiences; and hopefully show that we are working diligently to address those main issues that are of utmost interest to the community.”
One of the projects on PWC Works is the initiative to improve the county permitting process. The project page explains what the initiative is, as well as the goals and the success criteria of the initiative. It also lists the major milestones and the accomplishments to date.
“This platform really allows us to showcase the things that we’ve done and the things in the pipeline,” said Mandi Spina, the county’s director of Development Services. “My team and I are firm believers that communication, collaboration and partnership are really the key to any project.”
Other projects highlighted on the site include the county’s SolarApp+ initiative, Community Safety initiative, the redesign of the Community Partners program, Coordinated Community CARE (formerly known as mobile integrated health), panhandling response and PWC 311.
The county will continue to add projects and different engagement opportunities to the platform in the coming months.
“In the future, we’re looking to add transportation projects and different capital improvement projects, as well as other customer experience initiatives we are working on,” Brown said. “We will also be adding functionality where people can sign up to receive updates on these projects and using different tools within the platform to allow for direct engagement. That’s the next step.”
The initiatives and programs included on PWC Works are ultimately aimed at community engagement and customer service.
“What we want to do is create a platform for residents to engage with us directly and be aware of the great work that is happening to better serve our community,” said County Executive Chris Shorter. “I’m excited about this work. It’s a way for us to be proactive in sharing what we’re working on and what we’re doing in the community.”
