Prince William Public Libraries is offering three opportunities this month for people of all ages to participate in contests and feedback to improve library services.
New for 2023, we are offering a new Design Challenge as part of this year’s Summer Reading program. People of all ages are encouraged to unlock their creativity and have their designs printed on Summer Reading tote bags. The artwork must be designed around this year’s theme, “All Together Now.“ Full contest details can be found online at pwcva.gov/department/library/kids. Submissions can be dropped off at any library or sent to [email protected]. For those who prefer to create a hand-drawn design, forms will be available at all 12 branches. Two winning entries will be featured on this year’s Summer Reading tote bags. The deadline for entries is March 31.
March 1 marks the beginning of the third annual Teen Writing Contest. High school students in grades 9 – 12 are encouraged to write an essay about how the library has positively impacted their life. The winning submission will receive a $300 cash prize sponsored by the Prince William Library Foundation. Students should answer the question in 350 words or less and submit the essay in person to Bull Run, Central, Chinn Park, Haymarket Gainesville, Manassas City, Montclair, or Potomac Library or online at pwcva.gov/department/library/young-adults by March 31. Full contest details are available at pwcva.gov/department/library/youngadults.
Prince William Public Libraries also looks forward to receiving your opinion on our services. Every year, we ask if you found what you were looking for at the library. From March 1 – 31, complete a two-minute survey to tell us about your recent library visit. The feedback is valuable to us as it enables us to adapt our services to the needs and wants of the community. Printed surveys are available at all 12 branches or by selecting the “Library Survey” button online at pwcva.gov/library. The survey is available in English and Spanish.
