Looking for activities to keep your kids busy during spring break? We’ve got you covered. From archery, to golf, to music, Minecraft and more, we’ve got plenty of options for your kids to choose from. If you’re looking for a full-day camp for the week, we’ve got those too! All camps below are held during the week of March 25-29 at various locations.
Beginner Archery
You child can learn archery at this four-day camp at Locust Shade Park or Silver Lake Regional Park. In this beginner archery camp, for ages 8-15, they will learn the safe and effective way to handle and shoot recurve and compound bows, while understanding the differences between them. Training provided by National Archery Association certified instructors. Camp will run from 9 am – 11 am, March 25-28. (Friday will be used as a make-up day if needed.) Register today.
Chess
Your child can learn how to play or improve their chess skills at this chess camp, instructed by Magnus Chess Academy and held at Pat White Center at Ben Lomond. Magnus has taught over 100,000 children including national champions, as well as beginners. Campers are split into groups based upon skill level. Campers will learn rules, openings, tactics, endgames and more. Many games will be played for campers to develop their chess skills. All equipment provided. Two separate chess camps will run from March 25-28, 9 am – 4 pm—one for children ages 6-8, and one for children ages 9-12. Register your child today.
Full Week Camps
Veterans Memorial Park is hosting a full week Outdoor Spring Break Camp from (March 25-29, 9 am – 5 pm) for children ages 6-12. In addition to our traditional outdoor activities, each day will have nature-based activities and experiments. Children will participate in science-themed activities, ranging from chemistry to engineering (building). Indoor activities are planned in case of inclement weather. Register today!
Chinn Center is also hosting a full week camp for children ages 6-14. Your child will have the opportunity to participate in supervised camp games, activities and crafts at Chinn Spring Break Camp. Camp also includes swimming and a field trip! Before care and after care also available for a fee. Registration is required. Secure your child’s spot today!
Cybertek Academy: Minecraft Modding
Your Minecraft fanatic will learn how to create their own custom gameplay items and elements using Creator and Minecraft. Create artwork for various items and implement into game with custom behaviors. Design your own custom blocks, tools, food, biomes, and more! Camper skill level: beginner to intermediate. Two camp sessions will be held from March 25-29, one for children ages 6-9, from 9 am – 12 pm; and one for ages 10-14, from 1 – 4 pm. Camp will be held at Veterans Memorial Park. Register here.
First Tee Golf Camp
Join us for the most diverse and inclusive sport available to our kids, golf. First Tee focuses on learning the fundamentals of golf while also learning how to gain life skills to better deal with the challenges of today. Having fun and learning a game of a lifetime is our mission. If new to the game, we provide everything they will need to be successful. For children ages 7-17. Learn Now Music: The Ultimate Music Camp
Learn Now Music introduces campers to a variety of musical instruments and concepts including piano, guitar, violin, drums, voice and movement. Campers will participate in musical games, crafts, musical listening excerpts, related projects and more. Campers are issued instruments to borrow for at-home exploration (rental agreement required). Instruments must be returned at the end of the week. Bring a snack and drink each day to camp. Camp will run from March 25-29, 1 – 4 pm at Veterans Memorial Park.
Little Acorns
Veterans Park Little Acorns Camp for ages 3-5, will provide an entertaining, safe, and enjoyable environment for your child. This camp will excite your child as we explore nature and learn about the incredible world around us. The camp will feature age-appropriate activities, trail hikes, creative games and crafts to encourage their imagination and development skills. Campers will spend time outdoors and will be able to cool off inside our air-conditioned activity center. Please apply sunscreen and bug spray before your child arrives to camp. Please note this is a drop-off program, parent participation not required. Camp takes place at Veterans Memorial Park, March 25-29, 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.
Spring Break Camp in a Box
Give your child a fun and exciting camp experience from the comfort and convenience of your own home. This Camp in a Box comes packed with fun activities, supplies and instructions to keep your child entertained a few hours each day. Boxes come with enough materials for 2 children ($25) or 4 children ($40) and instructions will have physical and cognitive modifications for each activity. Boxes must be purchased online and can be picked up on March 22nd between 10 am and 4 pm from Birchdale Community Center or Pat White Center.
