Fresh air, sunshine, and beautiful surroundings—what more could you want? A hike can be a great way to boost your mood and a simple way to get moving. According to a study done by researchers at Stanford University, walking in nature can reduce stress, calm anxiety and help lower the risk of depression.

In addition to the mental health benefits, there are also many physical benefits that come with hiking like building stronger muscles and bones, improving your sense of balance, improving sleep, as well as important cardiovascular benefits like lowering your blood pressure. If you’re still not sure about this thing called “hiking” we’ve got several guided hikes to help ease your hesitation. We invite you to explore some of our parks in Prince William County with our staff as your guides!
