When it comes to health and fitness, there is so much information out there that it can sometimes be hard to know where or how to begin. Working with a personal trainer can be a great place to start. A personal trainer will give you the individualized attention, motivation and guidance you need to succeed. Our Certified Personal Trainers work with you to develop a customized fitness program to help you meet your goals, whatever they may be.

Whether you’re new to fitness training and don’t know where to start, or you’re not seeing the results you want, or if you just need that extra accountability and motivation that comes with having a personal trainer—we are here to help.

Personal training services are currently offered at both Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center and Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center, and we offer free consultations to passholders and non-passholders. You can sign up for a free consultation by filling out the PT interest form here, and someone will contact you for your appointment. During the consultation you can expect to discuss your goals, nutrition, health issues and more. (Please note you do not have to be a member/passholder to sign up for a consultation or for personal training services.)

We also encourage you to check out our membership benefits. We are currently running a 20% off membership sale through the end of January so there is no time like the present!

Q & A with Emily:

What do you love about being a personal trainer?

I love helping people build habits to reach their full potential.

What do you think makes you unique?

I was a competitive swimmer for 16 years, and when I first started really focusing on my workouts and strength training, I was just like most of my clients when they first started. I walked in not knowing how to do many of the exercises, I woke up sore and at times lacked motivation. I pushed through though and came out on the other side better for it.

How do you keep your clients motivated and what can they expect if they work with you?

I meet my clients where they are. I push my clients to a level they feel comfortable with and nothing more. They are the best judge of how hard an exercise is for them.

I always tell my clients that my goal for them is to eventually not need me. Eventually I want them to be like a bird flying the nest where they can walk into the gym on any given day and know what muscle groups they want to hit. I encourage my clients to ask me all questions they have about any of the exercises we complete so it becomes second nature for them. I am there to help build up their confidence in themselves each and every session.
