The first meeting of the 2024-2027 Board of County Supervisors was held on Tuesday, Jan. 9. During the organizational meeting, Chair-At-Large Deshundra Jefferson provided remarks and spoke of hope for the coming year in her first address to county residents as chair of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors.
Jefferson spoke of her hope for partnership among the board members to encourage dialogue that will lead to effective governance to better serve the people of Prince William County and committed to working with all board members for the betterment of life in the county. She also spoke of responsible growth, diversifying the tax base and finding solutions to help the most vulnerable by investing in affordable housing and public safety.

In other business, the Board elected Occoquan District Supervisor Kenny Boddye as the 2024 Vice Chair and Coles District Supervisor Yesli Vega as the 2024 Chair Pro-Tem. The board also adopted its 2024 meeting schedule.
