As the holiday season begins and you’re busy with all the decorating, shopping, hosting and baking, make sure you're also making time for some holiday recreation and fun. Here are five ways you can get into the holiday spirit this December with Prince William County Parks and Recreation.
Holiday Walk of Lights
The lights are back and better than ever! Prince William County Parks is excited to be hosting its 3rd annual Holiday Walk of Lights—free to the public! Join us in December to enjoy the beautiful holiday-themed light displays that will light up Neabsco Regional Park and help get you in the holiday spirit. This year we’ll also have holiday characters roaming the park, carolers and a holiday market on select dates. See all dates, times, important parking information and more here. The opening ceremony will take place Friday, December 6 at 5:30 pm.
Holiday Market
Looking for that perfect, unique gift? Come shop our holiday market on Saturday, December 7 (9:30 am-3 pm) where you’ll find unique gifts, crafts, specialty and your favorite treats. Holiday Market will be held at 14050 Gemini Way, Dale City, VA (same location as Dale City Farmers Market).
Family Gingerbread House Building Contest
Are you and your family looking for some competitive holiday fun? If so, come join us at our second annual Family Gingerbread House Building Contest at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday, December 14 (10 am-noon). Start planning your winter wonderland designs now! Each family will receive one gingerbread house kit to build and decorate to submit for judging. All family members participating must be pre-registered and paid for this event. Register here.
Yuletide Yoga
Come celebrate this holiday season with the gift of yoga. Join us on Saturday, December 14 (12-1:30 pm) for this festive holiday yoga session that embraces the holiday spirit. This class is appropriate for all fitness levels (ages 14+). Class takes place at Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center. Register today.
Holidays Through the Ages at Rippon Lodge
Stroll through seasonal celebrations of the past at Rippon Lodge Historic Site. With interiors and exteriors richly decorated for the holidays, guests will enjoy an in-depth exploration of seasonal festivities over the centuries. No groups larger than 15 at a time.
