West County Household Hazardous Waste Events Scheduled

Prince William, VA, June 24—Prince William County Solid Waste Division is pleased to announce a series of pop-up Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Disposal events for County residents; proof of residency will be required. Note that electronics, gas cylinders, and latex paints will not be accepted at these HHW pop-up events.

Events have been scheduled across four Saturdays in the summer and winter at the Western Bus OmniRide Maintenance and Operations Facility, 7850 Doane Dr. Manassas, Virginia

  • July 13 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • August 10 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • November 9 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • December 7 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services at these events are not available to business, commercial user or residents of the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Proof of residency will include identification such as a Virginia Driver’s License or Virginia State ID with a photo and home address.

Residents are limited to 15 gallons liquid and 40 pounds solid of household hazardous waste. All items brought for disposal should be in their original labeled container. Be sure containers are securely sealed and packaged for safe transport. Note that electronics, gas cylinders, and latex paints will not be accepted at these HHW pop-up events.

Household hazardous waste disposal is also available at the Prince William County Landfill on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along with electronics recycling. Visit www.pwcva.gov/disposalguide for more information on where to dispose of items such as electronics, automotive fluids, and batteries, recyclable material, etc., which will not be accepted at the HHW Popups.
