Recreation and Fun for the Littlest Ones!

If you’re looking for activities to keep your little ones busy, Prince William County Parks has got your covered. We offer several programs for young children under age 6 to participate in with a parent or guardian, and without. Keep reading to find out what’s coming up this spring.

St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt (ages 3-5)
Wear your green and bring your luck! We will be looking for Leprechauns and hunting for gold and other trinkets! Children ages 3-5 will enjoy this fun scavenger hunt at Sharron Baucom Dale City Recreation Center on Friday, March 14, 10:30 am – 12 pm. They will also enjoy a story, craft, and a light snack. All children attending will need to be registered to participate. Register your child today.

Teddy Bear Picnic (ages 3-5)
Children can bring their favorite teddy bear to our teddy bear picnic! Activities will include games, story time, crafts and a light snack. This is a drop off program; child must be able to separate from guardian. Friday, March 21, 12-1 pm at Dale City Recreation Center. Click here to register.

Fun With Puppets (ages 2-5)
Your little one will enjoy this class where they will design, build and have fun with their created puppets. All materials will be provided. This program is designed for children to attend with a parent or guardian. Program held at Pat White Center at Ben Lomond on Tuesday, March 25, 10-11 am. Register here.

Children Fun Days: Little Red Wagon Day (ages 2-5)
This fun program gets participants engaged and learning with stories, crafts, and getting messy! Stories and crafts will be based on our theme for the day—Little Red Wagon Day. Materials will be provided. This program is designed for children with to attend with a parent or guardian and will be held at Pat White Center at Ben Lomond on Thursday, March 27, 9:30-11:00 am. Paint, Squish & Explore (ages 4-5)
There are still a few spots left in the ages 4-5 program beginning on April 3 at Dale City Recreation Center. This program is more than just an art class! We have combined sensory play, science concepts, and process-oriented art to give your child hands-on experiences and tons of fun. Ages 4-5 is a drop-off program; the child must be able to separate from the guardian. Click here to register.

Colors and Shapes in Nature (ages 2-5)
Join us on Wednesdays, April 2-16, 9:30-10:30 am at Ben Lomond Regional Park. You and your little one will explore different colors, shapes, and numbers through the lens of nature at Ben Lomond Regional Park. All materials will be provided. This program is designed for children with a parent or guardian. Register here. 

Spring into Nature (ages 3-5)
Come explore with us at Dale City Recreation Center. Our adventures will include outdoor explorations, art projects, stories, and more. Join us on April 11 or May 2, from 12-1 pm. Each session will be unique so join us for one or both. This parent/child program will be held outdoors, so dress appropriately for the weather. Click here to register.
