The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently proclaimed March 2023 as Social Work Appreciation Month and commended all social workers and human services caseworkers for their important work in transforming lives by breaking barriers residents face daily.
The barriers residents face in their goals to live safely and self-sufficiently are intensive and complex.
Prince William County’s Department of Social Services and the Prince William Area Agency on Aging have 150 staff members with degrees in Social Work or work in the Human Services Caseworker family of job classifications. Those staff members offer or support programs that provide strength-based, family-focused services to local individuals and families.
Staff continues to work at the forefront of public efforts to meet the needs of all county residents to strengthen families, create permanency for children, protect aged and disabled adults and children and support all in navigating complex service systems.
