Prince William Board of County Supervisors Commends Omicron Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors recently commended and recognized the Omicron Zeta Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. for 13 years of active service in Prince William County through its programs.

The board recognized the fraternity for its commitment to the motto of “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity,” which guides the fraternity’s community involvement.

The board supports the academic achievement of county students, the growth of Prince William County businesses, and the general health and welfare of county residents.

Over the years, the fraternity has provided more than $75,000 in educational scholarships and tutoring services to local students. Fraternity members have also given more than 13,000 community service hours in Prince William County supporting homeless and lower-income families, advocating community and law enforcement relations and promoting better health and wellness for Prince William County residents.

The fraternity accepts and practices the charge given by the late Congressman John R. Lewis of “getting into good trouble” through their Souls to the Polls voting initiative.

The board further encouraged all Prince William County residents to embrace the Fraternity’s “Culture for Service and Service for Humanity” motto.
