The Prince William County Office of Community Safety (OCS) recently participated in a cleanup on Easy Street in Woodbridge along with the Prince William County Police Department, the county’s Department of Social Services and the Virginia Department of Transportation, or VDOT, who owns the right-of-way under the bridge crossing Marumsco Creek, just off U.S. 1.
The OCS, which was created last year as part of the county’s Community Safety Initiative, works with various county agencies and stakeholders to align community safety initiatives.
"This collaborative effort between county agencies and community partners is pivotal to the Community Safety Initiative. By leveraging the strengths of inter-agency cooperation and community partnerships, we're strategically and thoughtfully coordinating responses that empower communities and address the root causes of safety concerns, ensuring our approach is as dynamic and multifaceted as the communities we serve," said Director of OCS Wesley Dawson.
“Community cleanups, beautification projects and sustainable upkeep are one element in a multitude of hands that shape safety. We really appreciate all the efforts of our partners that helped to clean up this area,” said OCS Community Safety Administrator Tauheeda Yasin.
