Want to become a lifeguard, or work as a cashier, attendant, or camp counselor? We offer a variety of jobs to fit your interest and experience. Check out some of the positions we’re currently hiring for and learn what you’ll be doing in each job.
Cashiers
As a cashier, you’ll provide a high level of customer service. You’re responsible for handling cash drawer, intake of guest orders, sales of daily passes, processing coupons, credit card transactions and accounts for drawer at the end of shift. Prior customer service, sales and cash handling experience preferred. Hiring at various locations.
Attendants
SplashDown Waterpark:
Aquatic Attendant - Waterslides/Pool Deck: (age 16+) You’ll dispatches riders at the top of waterslides and ensures safety of guests in and around aquatic attractions.
Park Attendant: (age 14+) You will help maintain cleanliness of park, restrooms and pavilions to include cleaning bathrooms, dumping trash, checking pavilions, cleaning and maintaining park grounds.
Food & Beverage Attendant: (age 14+) You’re responsible for dispensing food in food and beverage outlets, set up and break down of catered/special events, serving events, food runner and attendant for catered/special events.
Eastern Prince William County:
Park Attendant – Lake Ridge Park: (age 16+) As a Park Attendant you’ll help maintain cleanliness of park, restrooms and pavilions to include cleaning bathrooms, dumping trash, trash runs to dumpsters, checking pavilions, cleaning and maintaining park grounds. Applicant must be 16 years or older and hold a valid driver’s license as you may be required to drive a golf cart.
Dock Attendant – Lake Ridge Park: (age 14+) You’ll maintain cleanliness of boats and assists with dock operations and customers.
Golf Attendant – Lake Ridge Park: (age 14+) You will prepare golf equipment for classes and oversee youth performing golf tasks.
Marina Attendant – Locust Shade Park: (age 16+) As a Marina Attendant you will maintain cleanliness of park, restrooms and pavilions to include cleaning bathrooms, dumping trash, trash runs to dumpsters, checking pavilions, cleaning and maintaining park grounds. Will set up mini golf, batting cages, and driving range at Locust Shade Park. Applicant must be 16 years or older and hold a valid driver’s license as incumbent may be required to drive a golf cart.
Aquatic Attendant – Waterslides/Pool Deck – Waterworks Waterpark: (age 16+) You will dispatch riders at the top of waterslides and ensures safety of guests in and around aquatic attractions.

Camp Counselors
As a Camp Counselor you are responsible for the daily supervision of campers, daily activity planning, safety, and group management. Camp Counselors must be able to work within a team setting to accomplish program goals. Successful Camp Counselors are upbeat, decisive, and responsible, while giving campers a fun and safe camp experience. Organizational and strong leadership skills are a plus! Camp programs are generally offered Monday- Friday from 9 am – 5 pm, however due to our extended care program, there may be times when flexibility is necessary. Please note employee hours are based upon camp enrollments and cannot be guaranteed. Hiring at various locations.
Water Safety Instructors
As a Water Safety Instructor, you will instructor American Red Cross learn-to-swim programs. Instructors in this classification teach beginner and intermediate aquatic classes. Example: preschool, learn to swim, private swim, lifeguard training courses, etc. May provide daily upkeep and light maintenance of equipment and facility. Learn more here.
Inclusion Aides
Do you have a passion for helping children succeed? Do you have experience working with children of all abilities? The Department of Parks and Recreation offers a variety of children's programs for ages 3-14, at various sites to include indoor, as well as outdoor environments. Our programs serve a broad base of families. We are currently seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team and work closely with children with disabilities who would like to participate in the programs we offer. Lifeguards
As a lifeguard you will learn valuable life skills and develop leadership abilities that future employers are looking for. We are seeking applicants who enjoy a fast-paced work environment, who prioritize safety and responsibilities and have excellent communication skills. The Department of Parks and Recreation has eight aquatic facilities to include: two indoor pools, four community pools and two waterparks. We are currently hiring for all eight DPR aquatic facilities for the upcoming summer season. Shifts will range from early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. No prior experience is required. Applicant MUST be at least 15 years old by 6/8/2025 and pass the swim test requirements for consideration as a Lifeguard. See all details here.
Aside from successfully passing the swim test requirements and interview process, this position also requires all Lifeguards to complete the Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program which is included free of charge in your training as a Parks & Recreation Lifeguard. Training schedules will be provided upon hire.
