Street renaming may be initiated by several actions, including road realignment, Board of County Supervisors action, or citizen request.
Naming an unnamed private street requires three or more properties with access from the drive and/or an extenuating circumstance that makes locating the property difficult for emergency response.
Those who initiate a naming/renaming request must recognize that this process is a commitment by all affected parties. If the proposed street name is approved, there will be an address reassignment for each property. Affected property owners are responsible for notifying personal correspondents and will bear any expense incurred (i.e. address numbers on house/mailbox, drivers licenses, bills, credit cards, stationary, checks, legal documents, and business license).
