Are you ready to take your reading to the next level? Prince William Public Libraries invites students in grades K–12 to “Level Up Your Reading,” a gamified reading challenge to track minutes, earn prizes, and work your way toward a grand prize drawing!

Concurso De Poesia Del Mes De La Herencia Hispana para Adolescentes
Grades 9 – 12
September 15 – October 15
Honor the rich tapestry of Hispanic and Latine culture and identity in poetry. The winner will receive $100. An honorable mention will be awarded $50.
Express yourself in English, Spanish, or a blend of both languages as you explore themes of Hispanic and Latine culture, identity, history, and community. All types of poetry are welcome.
Competition Rules:
· The contest begins on Monday, September 15, and ends on Wednesday, October 15.
· Competitors must be in high school and be residents of Prince William County or the City of Manassas.
· Competitors may only submit one entry.
· Spanish and multilingual poetry is welcome! Please provide English translations for the judges.
· Entries will be judged on relevance to the theme of Hispanic and Latine Culture and Identity, creativity, emotional Impact, and technique, which includes structure and grammar.
· Entries must be submitted by email to [email protected] or by submitting the online form below.
Winners will be announced on Monday, November 3.
Young Adult Book Club to Go! Kits Now Available
Prince William Public Libraries' Book Club to Go! Kits now include Young Adults titles and provide everything you need to host your own book club with titles selected by librarians. Kits contain up to 10 copies of the book to share with your reading group. Kits can be checked out for six weeks and are renewable. Click here to place Juvenile and Young Adult titles on hold.
For other ideas, ask the staff at your library for assistance. They can offer suggestions and show you how to use library resources for discussion questions or author biographical information.
