OMNIRIDE IS TRANSPORTATION YOU CAN COUNT ON

WOODBRIDGE, VA – The past 18 months have been a challenge here in Prince William and Manassas area and across the entire world. Many things have changed in the last year and a half, but one thing that has not changed is OmniRide’s commitment to the community and its goal to provide safe and reliable transportation options while helping to reduce congestion and pollution in one of the region's fastest-growing areas.

OmniRide is the operating name for the mobility services offered by the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC). The organization provides local bus service in Prince William County, Manassas, and Manassas Park; Express service for commuters along the I-95 and I-66 corridors to employment centers in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.; and Metro Express which connects riders with Metro Stations.  In addition, OmniRide’s Employer Services assists local employers who wish to establish or expand an employee transportation program.

SAFETY

The health and safety of all passengers and employees is OmniRide’s number one priority. OmniRide continues to follow COVID-19 mitigation protocols that were put in place early in the pandemic. This includes stringent cleaning of bus interiors daily and enhanced cleaning once a week on all buses. On-board air filters are cleaned and replaced frequently.  In compliance with a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) mandate, ALL passengers and bus operators are required to wear face coverings while onboard OmniRide buses.

In order to minimize interactions between bus operators and riders and allow customers to board quickly and self-distance more effectively, OmniRide instituted free fares on Local and Metro Express services. Commuters riding OmniRide Express buses will continue paying fares with a tap of their SmarTrip card or mobile payment app – no cash fares. Now is a good time to give OmniRide a try while local routes are free!

RELIABILITY

OmniRide works hard to ensure that passengers have a bus system they can trust to get them where they need to be when they need to be there! Until recently, the entire fleet of buses was housed at OmniRide’s Transit Center in Woodbridge – not very efficient for routes that serve western PWC routes. To improve reliability and efficiency for OmniRide passengers on the western side of the County, the organization opened the Western Bus Maintenance and Storage Facility in Manassas. Starting in early June 2021, buses were dispatched from the Western Facility for the first time. This new facility allows for OmniRide to improve and expand transit services for western Prince William County and Manassas area residents and the business community and will help to reduce congestion along the I-66 corridor.

As we approach the winter months, residents should consider OmniRide as a safe and reliable alternative mode of transportation to driving alone. No need to “white-knuckle” your winter commute on the highways, our bus operators will safely take you to your destination.
