The amended stockpile policy took effect on Aug. 1, 2007. The policy takes into consideration the County’s responsibility to protect its citizens from nuisances caused by random locations of stockpiles and the County's commitment to protect waterways from silt and sediment deposition. The policy incorporates updated provisions of the Design and Construction Standards Manual and addresses requirements of the Erosion and Sediment Control regulations. This updated policy provides active construction sites the option to either retain excavated material on site in a pre-planned and suitably situated area for the duration of the project, or relocate these areas as needed to keep pace with construction progress.
