Vicky Castro recently retired as a social worker with Prince William County and has over 20 years’ experience in the field of education. A graduate of Fairfax County public schools, she received an undergraduate degree in education from George Mason University and a master’s in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Mrs. Castro was appointed to the Prince William County Community Services Board (CSB) – Occoquan Magisterial District in 2024.

Mrs. Castro was the recipient of a Human Rights Award from the Human Rights Commission of Prince William County in 2014. She is a graduate of Leadership Prince William, Class of 2018. Mrs. Castro participates in social justice activities in her community. Prior to being appointed to the CSB Board, she was a commissioner on the Racial and Social Justice Commission. She currently is the chairperson of Beacon for English Language and Literacy, is on the Citizen’s Advisory Board to the Prince William County Police Department, and a volunteer for NAMI Prince William. Mrs. Castro is a passionate advocate for families and children, specifically in the areas of behavioral health and access to resources.

Mrs. Castro and her husband have lived in Prince William County since 1983 and raised four children who graduated from Prince William County Schools and attended universities in Virginia.
