Since being elected Clerk of the Circuit Court in 2017, Jacqueline C. Smith, Esq., has worked to improve fair, efficient, and responsive clerk services for all. She established a "Non-Attorney Self-Help Center" to empower unrepresented parties to handle simple legal matters, transitioned concealed handgun permits to a durable and secure hard card, and formed partnerships with Project Child Safe to provide free gun locks in conjunction with concealed handgun permits to ensure our community remains a safer place.
With resident convenience and access to services as a top priority, Clerk Smith established the nation's first mobile Clerk's office, "Seals on Wheels," a fully equipped van that provides Circuit Court Clerk services throughout the community to residents on Saturdays.
