The public is invited to attend a Memorial Day Ceremony on Tuesday, May 20, at 6:30 p.m. at Freedom Park War Memorial located at the Prince William County Government Complex in Woodbridge.
Freedom Park is located across the street from the plaza between the McCoart Government Building and the Development Services Building, next to the Liberty Memorial.
Immediately following the ceremony, attendees are invited to write the name of a loved one or someone they know who died in combat, or just a message of support, on a red paper poppy. The poppies will then be displayed on a "poppy wall." For those who are unable attend the event, but would still like to participate in the poppy wall, the display will move into the atrium of the James J. McCoart Building where people can stop by and show their support by adding a name to a poppy throughout Memorial Day.
